Hallorann is a man with “the shine”, a psychic ability that lets him sense things and communicate mentally with others who also have it. He helps Danny Torrance in The Shining and later guides him in Doctor Sleep. In Welcome to Derry, Hallorann returns as a younger character, showing more of his past
