Great alternative to the standard bench press to prevent shoulder injury. You will rarely see me go above 315lbs on standard bench press ever. The weight load and strain on the rear delts during the negative portion and when breaking inertia at the chest is way too risky in my opinion. Of course, I didn’t always think this until I continuously found myself developing AC joint pain and tendinitis, having to take weeks on end away from benching.
