President Trump and New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani will meet at the White House on Friday, both sides said Why it matters: Trump has for months criticized Mamdani and again referred to the democratic socialist as a "Communist" in his Truth Social announcement Wednesday night.

Mamdani spokesperson Dora Pekec said the duo would discuss public safety, economic security and “the affordability agenda that over one million New Yorkers voted for just two weeks ago.”
