A major storm system that will bring a variety of impactful weather across the United States this week looks to have something up its sleeve for the Northeast as well: Significant rainfall.

WARWICK, N.Y. — Some residents in Warwick, Orange County are being asked to evacuate due to the Jennings Creek wildfire. According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, winds caused the fire to escape containment Saturday evening near Edgemere Avenue.

The Jennings Creek wildfire is 90 percent contained, officials announced Monday evening. Despite persisting high wind gusts, crews were able to drop buckets of water on the ridge throughout the day. The voluntary evacuation for Wah-Ta-Wah Park is over but remains in effect for 120 Edgemere south to Woods Road,
