The US has struck a trade deal with Indonesia, under which Indonesian products entering the US will face a 19 per cent tariff – down from the 32 per cent initially threatened by president Donald Trump.

Trump says Indonesia will buy 50 Boeing aircraft and import energy and agricultural commodities from the US as part of a trade deal.

President Donald Trump said he reached a deal with Indonesia that will tariff its goods at 19%, adding that the Southeast Asian nation agreed to erase all duties on US imports and buy more than $19 billion of American products including 50 Boeing Co.

Trump announces a 19 percent import tariff for Indonesia to the US. In return, the US will export various energy, agricultural, and Boeing 777 products to Indonesia.

Indonesia committed to buying $15 billion worth of U.S. energy, $4.5 billion in American agricultural products and 50 Boeing jets, "many of them 777's," Trump announced on social media.
