Two people collided mid-air while skydiving, leaving one dead and another injured in Rochelle, Illinois, on Wednesday night. The Ogle County sheriff said both skydivers' reserve parachutes deployed.

One skydiver died and another was injured following a midair collision in Rochelle, Illinois that caused both parachute canopies to collapse despite reserve parachutes being deployed.

A second skydiver was found at Koritz Field and was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. According to deputies, preliminary investigation shows the two skydivers collided midair causing both of their parachutes to collapse. Both reserve parachutes were deployed, but the collision caused the uncontrolled descent of the one skydiver.
