Instagram users will soon be able to manually reset the recommendation algorithm that determines what they see in their feeds.

Instagram is testing a new feature that will let users completely refresh the content that’s recommended to them on the platform. The recommendations reset feature will “soon roll out globally,” according to Meta’s announcement, and can be used to clear the algorithmic content that currently appears in Feeds, Explore, and Reels.

Instagram is testing the ability for users to reset their recommendations, the company announced on Tuesday. By resetting your recommendations, you would be starting fresh and retraining the app’s algorithm about the content you enjoy across your Explore page, home feed, and Reels tab.

Instagram already allows users to curate their recommendations by labeling specific posts as "interested" and "not interested," as well as hide content with captions that contain certain words or phrases. Instagram has also debuted other features related to teen safety and well-being in recent months.
