Liverpool pay emotional tribute to Diogo Jota at Preston friendly - Liverpool have been in mourning since the news of Jota’s death came early on the morning of July 3.

Following warm-ups, Preston North End captain Benjamin Whiteman crossed the pitch and laid a memorial wreath at the foot of the away end, which was covered with banners, signs, and scarves honoring Jota. Whiteman’s respects were received very well from the traveling Kop.

Liverpool players and fans alongside the players from Preston gave Diogo Jota and his brother Silva a heartfelt tribute in what was the first match of the club since the passing away of their player.
