Beyoncé and Jay-Z will compete against each other at the 2025 Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category. Beyoncé was nominated for Netflix's Christmas Game Day halftime show, while Jay-Z received a nod for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Jay-Z has been nominated in that marquee category. He was also nominated as an executive producer of the halftime shows starring The Weeknd (2021); Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent (2022); Rihanna (2023); and Usher (2024). He won in 2022 for the hip-hop extravaganza.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are both nominated for the same Emmy category in 2025, turning awards season into a family affair once again.
