Some suburban Houston residents are dealing with cleanup following at least two tornadoes as heavy rain falls around the South and snow in parts of the Midwest.

The Ohio Turnpike has announced a high wind travel ban for high-profile vehicles as severe weather threatens northern Ohio.

"The central U.S. could see cooler than normal temperatures Thanksgiving week, while areas of the west and Florida could see above-normal temperatures," the NWS said.

Temperatures in the Chicago area are forecast to dip into the 30s starting Wednesday, and wind chills could fall to a low of 6 degrees Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Alaska, while winter weather advisories span parts of Colorado, New Mexico, and Montana.

Although temperatures will be muggy and unseasonably warm on Wednesday, reaching the upper 50s and lower 60s across the state, a cold front will move in by nighttime. Much colder air will move in and bring temperatures down to the mid to upper 30s by Thursday morning.
