No. 3 LSU's defense rose to the occasion in another spotlight situation on Saturday night as the Tigers intercepted Florida quarterback DJ Lagway five times in a 20-10 victory. LSU needed all the help its defense could offer amid another subpar offensive effort.
BATON ROUGE, La. (WCJB) - Florida (1-2, 0-1 SEC) quarterback DJ Lagway threw five interceptions in a 20-10 loss to No. 3 LSU (3-0, 1-0 SEC) on Saturday. Lagway’s five interceptions, are the second-most in a game ever by a Gator quarterback. He completed 33 passes on 49 attempts (67%) for 287 yards and one touchdown.
You’d assume that there wouldn’t be too much to nitpick when it comes to LSU’s performance, but one reporter questioned head coach Brian Kelly about the team’s inability to convert on third downs. The question seemingly pressed the wrong button on Kelly who ended up screaming at him in a room full of people.
