Super regionals were introduced in 2005. If Arizona can pull off the upset in Durham, it will get to supers for the 18th time in 20 attempts. It would play Arkansas in Fayetteville, where it has advanced from regionals or super regionals twice in the past five years.

Arizona softball team to face Marshall at Durham Regional to begin postseason play

Arizona is one of seven Big 12 teams to qualify for the NCAA postseason. Big 12 Tournament champion Arizona State, Big 12 regular-season champion Texas Tech, Kansas, Baylor, UCF and Oklahoma State. The Wildcats are going to the NCAA postseason for the fourth time in five seasons under head coach Caitlin Lowe.
