According to court documents, Eddie McCollum called 911 shortly after 2 a.m. Monday and told dispatchers he shot his wife during an argument. He also told police the gun used in the shooting was left on the stairs inside the home. Investigators say he repeated the same account when officers arrived.

Around 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, officials responded to the 10000 block of Florentine Way off of Moores Chapel Road.

A late-night shooting on Carlyle Drive in west Charlotte left one person injured and a lot of neighbors feeling like their street just got a little less safe. Residents told reporters they are worried about what they see as an uptick in violent crime and say they are bracing for more incidents.
