Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world, is looking for his fourth major win — and first at the British Open. The two-time Masters winner and 2025 PGA Championship winner has yet to claim either of the U.S. Open or The Open Championship, with wins in all four securing an illustrious career Grand Slam.
The Australian duo of Adam Scott (+9) and Jason Day (+2) fell short. Two former Open winners have also missed out in the shape of two-time champion Padraig Harrington (+9) and Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke (+6), who won in 2011. Also missing out is Clarke's fellow countryman Tom McKibbin (+3).
The second round of the 2025 Open Championship is complete at Royal Portrush. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has the lead with Matt Fitzpatrick one shot back. Scheffler is at 10-under after rounds of 68-64, while Fitzpatrick shot scores of 67-66.
