After catching the winning 46-yard touchdown pass from Caleb WIlliams in th e Chicago Bears' 22-16 improbable and stunning comeback victory over the Green Bay Packers Saturday night, Dec. 20, DJ Moore immediately had earned hero status at Solidier Field.
Chicago pulled off an impeccable fourth-quarter comeback thanks to a recovered onside kick and an unbelievable touchdown pass by quarterback Caleb Williams on fourth-and-goal in a last-ditch effort to survive. The insane catch by undrafted rookie Jahdae Walker brought the game to overtime where the Bears had even more magic in store.
The Packers led 16-6 late in the fourth quarter. Then Matt LaFleur's team melted down, and the Bears scored the next 16 points, including the game-winning TD in OT.
Thanks to the overtime heroics of the Bears to come back and beat the Packers on Saturday night, the Detroit Lions do not control their own playoff destiny.
With just under 2 minutes left in the game, the Green Bay Packers were in perfect position to win in Chicago. Then disaster struck.
The first drive went to the Packers’ red zone. That ended with a botched snap over Kyle Monangai’s head for a loss of 18 and a turnover on downs. The Bears crossed midfield only one other time in the first half, and went into halftime with zero points.
The Bears erased a 10-point deficit in the final two minutes of regulation, recovering an onside kick, and hit the Packers in the gut in OT.
The Green Bay Packers were five minutes away from securing a season-defining win on the road over the Chicago Bears, but mistake after mistake kept the home team alive, and end result of not delivering the knockout blow was the visitors suffering a crushing defeat in overtime at Soldier Field.
Had Saturday’s game against the Chicago Bears been 58 minutes long, the report card would likely look drastically different than it does. Green Bay was dominant
