Wisconsin snaps Michigan State winning streak in series opener
Michigan State hockey's nine game winning streak is no more, with the Spartans dropping the opening matchup of a weekend series against Wisconsin. The Badgers took down the Spartans, 5-4, inside of Munn Ice Arena.
MSU's forecheck generated the first goal in the opening period, with senior forward and former Wisconsin player Charlie Stramel causing a turnover at the Badgers' blue line. The No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers kicked off a back-to-back with a 3-0 sweep over the Michigan State Spartans on Friday, fighting through some adversity at the end for their 19th win of the season.
