As President-elect Donald Trump privately considers his team to lead America’s economy during his term, Elon Musk has put his thumb on the scale, urging followers on X to help make a public push for a candidate who won’t be “business as usual” on Wall Street.

Elon Musk reportedly wanted to buy Substack after he purchased Twitter to combine the two sites. The tech CEO proposed the acquisition of the blogging site during a phone call with Substack executive Chris Best in April 2023, a year after he took over Twitter, according to The New York Times.

The billionaire reportedly got into a “massive blowup” with Boris Epshteyn after accusing him of leaking to the press. Other Trump advisors worry that Musk is behaving “as if he’s co-president.”
